Holiday Praline Pecan Pumpkin or Sweet Potato Tart

Grated orange peel 1¼ teaspoons cinnamon ½ teaspoon nutmeg ½ teaspoon ginger ¼ teaspoon ground cloves Pinch of salt 1 2/3 cups half-and-half, or milk, or reduced-fat or skim milk Pecan halves as desired Additional light or dark brown sugar as desired

 

Prepare crust.  In a medium bowl, sift together the flour and sugar; with a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse pebbles. Gradually add water, tossing mixture lightly with a fork to blend.  Evenly press pastry over the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch removable bottom tart or quiche pan which has been lightly coated with non-caloric vegetable cooking spray.  Partially bake crust in preheated moderate oven (350 degrees F.) for 12 to 15 minutes; remove from oven and set aside.
