With families from the flats to the hills filled with turkey and all the trimmings, residents are not the only ones stuffed with food. Refrigerators across town are also packed—with leftovers.
Here are a few ways to prepare what's left of your Thanksgiving bird. The only limitation is your own creativity.
1. Turkey Sandwiches : On your favorite bread, layer turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Mayonnaise is optional.
2. Turkey Soup : Use some of the pan drippings to make a tasty stock. Add your turkey and your favorite seasonal vegetables and simmer.
3. Turkey Pot Pie : Use 3 cups of cubed turkey, 2 cups of frozen veggies (thawed), blanched pearl onions, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1/2 cup milk, 1 package ready-made pie crust. Line a deep pie dish with one of the pie crusts. Combine all ingredients and fill pie pan. Place remaining pie crust on top and crimp along the edges. Cut holes in top to vent. Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
