STYLES HOME COOKING
CHEF Damien Styles, last seen in Brisbane behind the burners at Toowong's Two Small Rooms and for the past 12 years down rocking the pans in Melbourne is returning home to Queensland.
He'll be head-cheffing at Q'Essence, a new Wilston bistro-bar opening next month.
Damien's more recent roles include opening social enterprise restaurant Charcoal Lane for Mission Australia and working at trendy Pope Joan in East Brunswick.
The focus at his new 80- seater will be on local and seasonal, with an emphasis on keeping dishes affordable.
Breakfast, the star of the Pope Joan repertoire, will be a weekend-only option at Q'Essence.
"There will be 10-12 appetisers/sharing options,
six larger mains, four sweet options, and once established I will offer a tasting menu also," Damien says. Stay tuned.
