Eli Manning - Wow, just wow. That is all that went through my head during the final two drives by Eli and the Giants' offense. With everything on the line, on the road, without his biggest weapons, Eli marched his offense down the field, not once, but TWICE (85 and 80 yards respectively) to answer Patriot scores and give his team the lead. Maybe his 20 for 39, 250 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception stat line doesn't jump out at you as a great performance, but believe me, what Eli accomplished in the fourth quarter yesterday was nothing short of great. I know a lot of people get on Eli, including Giants' fans and yesterday's announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman (more on that later), for those momentary lapses he makes sometimes like throwing off his back foot, but there is absolutely nobody, and I am dead serious when I say NOBODY, I would rather have quarterbacking my team when it's down and needs a big time drive at the end of the game. Eli has the "clutch gene" as ESPN's Skip Bayless loves to say about everybody but the man who exhibits it almost weekly now. I agree with Tuck's post game assessment that Eli is playing better than he has the last seven years they have been together, and it's time for the national media to start recognizing that as well.
