The foundation, led by Pat Williams, boasts a variety of functions, including activities that relate to health & wellness, education, housing, financing, business and workforce development.
"In 2010, the Kinfolks Foundation awarded four students with four-year scholarships to attend college and assisted 22 underprivileged youth in obtaining their GED," says Williams via the official website.
Entertaining thousands of music lovers in nine U.S. cities while providing charitable community contributions, the Festival also has the ability to provide small businesses with exposure to a large audience through food and souvenir vending opportunities.
This year's concert kicks off Saturday at 3 p.m. Featuring throwback artists, including Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Parliament-Funkadelic, the Festival gives fans a chance to interact with some of their nostalgic favorites, while introducing the musicians to a younger audience.
One day only, organizers say tickets will be available at the gate, and the park opens at 1 p.m. Admission, starting at $25.00, is reserved for adults 21 and older. Tickets are also available at various local retailers, and by telephone. More information is available at the Kinfolks' home online.
