How Many Boxes of Cake for a Wilton Cake Pan?
Question: I bought a star shaped cake pan, and the directions say to use a 2-layer cake mix. Does that mean to use 2 boxes of cake mix? I've never made a cake before...

Answer: A regular sized cake mix will make a 2 layer cake. However, when making a cake to decorate, I would use 1 1/2 boxes of mix, because you will cut the rise off of the cake before you decorate it. By using extra mix, you will still have a nice thick cake.
